When it comes to List-building, you might be surprised by how many people start and fail…or fail to even start.
Since I want you to get the BEST results from your efforts, I have put a couple of tips below to help you on your way…Leave your comments below!
Step 1: Driving targeted traffic.
The first step to building a responsive list is to start with a general understanding of what traffic is…what is targeted traffic and how to get it.
Why?
Because, there are a ton of marketers who spend dozens of hours creating a web page, then have no idea how to get visitors to the page, let alone targeted visitors.
They rely upon a scatter-shot approach – send thousands of visitors to the page to get a handful of sign-ups and call it a success. Truthfully, it is a failure to put in so much time and energy for such dismal results.
Consider this: if you want to build a list of people interested in how to lose weight products, it would be a waste of your time and money to advertise in a auto parts magazine.
Now I used a pretty blunt example there but I think you get the point. 😉
Your time and resources would be better spent focusing on getting targeted traffic. General (untargeted) traffic may convert a few people per thousand visitors – if you’re lucky!
But good, targeted traffic can convert 40%, 50% or even more to sign up for your opt-in newsletter.
Step 2: Creating Your High-Converting Squeeze Page
Now the goal is to create a Killer Page that will convert a lot of your visitors into subscribers. I have found that simple works the best. Make sure you give away great content that your subscribers can’t find else where. When you give away crappy information, they will not trust you and you will lose them.
Give your very best content away for free. Now this is very hard at first and you can get better at this as time goes by so please do not get hung up on this and not get started. I stress starting is the hardest part!
There’s a ton more to building your list…more than we could fit into a single blog post.
I really want to hear from you to see why you are struggling or not getting started so that I know what you are missing to help you not only succeed but enjoy the ride to SUCCESS!

Hi Chris,
Great Post! Just found your blog and just started with Listbuilding Super Nova.
I think what has held me back from getting started is not having a plan of action – you get stuck before you even get started.

Hi Chris,
Excellent video! The main problem that I am having is putting my compelling offer (an eBook) in front of my targeted audience.
I have a website, Facebook Fan Page and use Classified Ads and Amazon to market my eBook. I would love to hear from you of how I can increase my exposure.
Kindest,
Libby Kalis
Libby,
Thanks you for your comments depending on the niche.
Solo Ads are the fastest ways to get your offer out there and then you can do ad swaps after that.
Now if you are in another niche other than IM then you can do those as well but will have
to search a little more. You can also look into Microsoft Adcenter it is cheaper then Google Ad words
and can get clicks as low as .03 cents for more clicks .10 a click. This is a method a use in
a couple of my niches. Facebook ads as well and 7 Search depending on the niche.
I love paid traffic just because it is so fast but Free traffic works as well just
usually takes a little more effort and time.
Hope this Helps,
Chris
