The Traffic Challenge is winding down with one week to go. I have a good time during the last month and have learned a lot along the way. I hope you have as well I really like having a place where I can communicate with my subscribers as well as reach out to new people. Going to catch new people up here just a little bit so bare with me for a second.

This was built on May 9th and from that day till June 7th the Traffic Challenge was started. Now when it first started I must tell you I was thinking cool I get put another site and see how much traffic I run through the site in a month’s time this is great. Then it hit me it was going to have to be a WordPress site and that made me get sick to my stomach. Here is the reason why, I have not tackled WP before and really did not want to spend 2 days trying to cram my brain full of the information to build the site.

Now do not get me wrong I had used WP before but I like things to look good and I like for things to be fast and for that to happen I needed to step out of my comfort zone and postpone all other projects. The end result without boring you do death is that I did finish it and the looks came out fairly well and the site was ready to roll. One problem I had 124 errors in my coding and was not getting indexed from Google and could not get the Google Anayltics widget to work properly.

Have all the fixed now and have the traffic coming into the site daily at a steady stream. Now let me back up for just a second I want to add one more thing before we get the good stuff of how much traffic and what I have done to produce that traffic.

Like stated above I thought the contest was about shoving as much traffic through the site as I could in one month but I was wrong. Let me explain you see yes if I was to win the contest then that would be right answer, however if I was to succeed in business then that might not be the right answer, let me explain.

There are lots of ways to run traffic to a site and at first my brain thought of all these tricks that I could use to run traffic through the site and win the contest. You see those are all temporary and not permanent. The goal here was to build a successful business and to do that was develop a steady continuing stream of traffic. Now if I win the contest and accomplish both then all the better!

Here is what I have done to date and you will see that it really is not much but has developed a steady stream:

1. I went out into every forum that I had marketed in and changed my signature to include this Blog
2. I went to Viral Traffic Tsunami and changed 2 of my ads to directed them to this site
3. Made 1 US Free Ads Classified Ad
4. Tweeted out each post that I made
5. Then I went Oil Rig Hopping and posted to about 30 blogs or so maybe a few more did not really count
Oil Rig Hopping is commenting on other people’s blogs
6. I created a video and uploaded on youtube and about 12 other video sites about the Traffic Challenge
7. I posted the video on Facebook as well as tweeted it
8. I then began to try to get as much quality information on the site as possible and get it ready for the traffic that I knew would be coming
9. I social bookmarked posts as well as pinged the site out and registered with as many RSS directories as possible
10. Recently I have paid for 250 backlinks to be placed on other blogs that will be bringing more traffic for some time
11. Made a second video for Traffic Update and did the same thing as the first video except this time I only put the first part of the video up on sharing sites and made them come to Blog to see the Update
12. Now I have just created a third video and purchased some video submission software that I have wanted for some time and sent the 2nd video out and the 3rd video to over 50 sites. The second video has been viewed on 1 of the video sites over 300 times already.
13. Almost forgot to tell you this I emailed my list I believe 2 times about updates to my Blog and will do so after this post as well
14. Wrote 3 articles and submitted to Ezine but got in a hurry with my keyword research and tried to go for keywords with too much competition so articles are not doing as well as I would like. Now normally I would send the people who read my articles to a squeeze but since I was trying jump start this site I thought I couple of articles directed to my Blog would be ok.

That about does it I might have done a few more things but think I about covered it all. I will give you one more update next week and let you know the end results to the competition. Either way though we are all winners because we have a place that I can provide you with information that will help you grow your business and we have a place to interact and I hope some of you will share with your ideas from time to time as well.
